HOW TO SELF-ASSEMBLE
Roller shutters

The shutter type and installation timing affect the façade build-up, service access and final appearance.

Self-assembly of external roller shutters is possible, especially in the case of simple surface-mounted systems. However, it requires accurate measurement, the right tools and precise assembly.

Where do I start?

The most important thing is the correct measurement of the window. Before buying a roller shutter, carefully check the width and height of the installation site and decide whether the roller shutter will be attached to the window frame, recess or facade.

Step-by-step installation

First, determine the places for fixing the guides and the roller shutter box. Then the mounting holes are drilled, the guides are fixed and the box with the armour is embedded.

After installing all elements, check that the roller shutter moves smoothly and does not rub against the guides.

In the case of electric roller shutters, it is also necessary to properly connect the drive. This part of the installation should be entrusted to a person with appropriate qualifications.

THINGS TO WATCH FOR

The most common mistakes are incorrect measurements, misaligned guide rails and overtightening the components.

An incorrectly installed roller shutter may operate noisily, jam or become damaged more quickly.

Alone or with a professional?

With simple surface-mounted roller shutters, installation can be made by yourself. For large roller shutters, flush-mounted systems or electrical control, professional installation is a safer solution.

At DREWNOPLAST, we help you choose the right roller shutter system and provide professional installation tailored to a specific building.
